Welcome to Mountain Laurel Dermatology!
Our Mission is to provide the most advanced and cost-effective treatment to the community. We believe in blending modern medicine with the time-honored values of compassion, empathy, and respect to promote the health and well-being of our patients.
Coronavirus Update: Mountain Laurel Dermatology will continue normal office hours and will continue to schedule appointments.
Below are additional precautions we are taking to ensure patient safety:
Before scheduling an appointment, we will screen patients for any signs or symptoms that could be linked to flu or Coronavirus (COVID-19). If you are experiencing any symptoms (including mild), we will reschedule your appointment to a later date.
For the safety of our office and staff, if possible, please prohibit bringing visitors to your appointment. Please note that if cases increase and precautions are mandated, our office will change check-in procedures. This may include waiting in your vehicle until the provider is ready. Please make every effort to add the MLD phone number (828-565-0560) to your contact list/phone in order to receive up-to-date communications regarding your appointment.
Given that even asymptomatic persons may have Coronavirus, our office will follow universal precautions:
Upon arrival to the office, a “no contact” approach will be used at check-in, with limited time in the reception area. Screening for recent travel, exposures and symptoms will be repeated at this time. Before and after each patient visit, surfaces including floors will be cleaned with disinfectant wipes and sprayed with anti-viral disinfectant spray. Instruments will continue to be sterilized according to medical guidelines for sterilization. We will implement telehealth visits soon if deemed appropriate.
We are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our patients, staff and doctors. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding at this very critical time.
Practices to prevent respiratory illness include:
Get a flu shot!
Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; if no access to soap and water, use hand sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol based.
Stay home if you are sick!
Distance yourself from people when possible by 6 feet.
Clean your phone!
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing (sanitize hands afterward).
Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth with your hands.
Limit social interactions; let’s keep our community safe!
All telehealth or portal messages will be responded to during normal business hours (Monday – Thursday 8:30-5pm; Friday 8:30-1pm). Any message sent outside of these specified time frames will be responded to on the next business day.
